Knitted headband

Hey all,

I just wanted to show you all my knitted headband I made. It was the first one I have ever made. I originally was going to be making a scarf for my American Girl doll but it turned out to be made for me instead.

I think it is cute and it is warm! I love it.

Cover your Boring Note Books!

So as I have mentioned before I am going back to school. I have a bunch of old notebooks from when I went to college the first time. They are boring, colorful but just plain old notebooks. I wanted something more and didn't want to spend anymore money. (trying to use things I already have on hand/can get for free school is expensive enough as it is by itself. I even told my BF that he could get me cute/funky/fun school supplies for Xmas, haha.) So I took a look at my fabric stash (wish I think I have SO much of and the BF tells me I do nothing with so "in yo face" I am using some :).

To start I cut out a template to cute out the fabric pieces.
Then I made my own D.I.Y. Mod Podge, which is just old Elmer's glue mixed with water (again something I had  on hand instead of spending$$$
Next I cut out my fabrics

Following that I used the qlue, a sponge brush and attached the fabric to the note books

I still need to trim the edged of the fabric off on these three
Right now I am letting these try and have weight on them to keep them flat as it does dry
Here is how the one I made yesterday looks

I still want to do more to these so there will be an updated post on these.
** UPDATED 12/14/12 i covered the spirals.

Also from this post I did a little bit more to my planner, I added rub ons
 Inspirations quotes.
I also recently helped out my cousin to make a video for the Doritos commercial  contest called Crash the Super Bowl if you click on the link and if voting it open please vote for him!

The cast Me (Ashley), Alaina, Matt and director Jimmy. If the link doesn't work right just type in Leh in the search and he has two videos submitted.

and last but not least here is a picture of my Kitty he just makes me so darn happy!

DIY planner in progress

Hello all,
I recently decided to go back to college to get my associated degree in business administration, which is my current field. I am going to be making myself more valuable. I have gotten lots of support from all my friends, family and coworkers. I decided that for my first semester back I could use a planner. I didn't want to just go buy an ordinary one, I wanted a "fun" one. So I am making my own. First I googles free printable planner pages and came across this website. I printed out all the pages I wanted and started the old creative juices flowing. I decided to make it like this...

First I decided on scrapbook paper that had print/color on both sides.

Then I cut everything out to fit the way I wanted it too.

Then I sewed them with my sewing machine.

This is how it has turned out so far.

I still plan on embellishing the pages with pictures and stickers I will follow up with the finished project, but I love how this is going so far.

Christmas Spirit...

Who else has been feeling the Christmas Spirit this year? For a while (late teen/early 20's) well I am only 23 but between I guess the age of 16 and 22 I didn't really feel the Christmas Spirit. This year is the year though! I am totally feeling the spirit!!! I am very excited for Christmas and not even because I am prepared (I am not I have not gotten one single present yet!) but becuase I am just so ready to enjoy the lights, the music, the snow and the hot chocolate. I even Decorated my desk at work (haven't started at home yet that is what this weekend is going to be all about!!!). here are the pictures of what my desk now looks like and all the decorations are from the dollar store!.

my computer

The Santa and Snoopies and the picture frames I have had they are not from the dollar store.
This bear is the bear I got for valentines day and I just put this cute (pet) hat and collar on him

a rant...

I can honestly say i hate when people are drunk and act like complete jerks. they try and push their action off onto being your fault. When in reality it is them being complete jerks. Then they want to complain about that their lives are shit and our government is flawed  while it may be our government is not perfect, but you get out of life what you put into it. you can complain about being poor when you don't work, you can complain about being homeless when you ran your life into the ground doing drugs. you doing get cookies by just wishing they were there. You have to work at it get all the right ingredient and cook them it may take time but the end result is so worth it. You need to make it happen, you need to work toward making your dreams come true. If you wanted you life to be different sitting on your ass and watching TV doesn't make shit happen. I have been working since I was 16, i have been saving money and getting everything that I have wanted. I dont blame not being anywhere because my government fucked me. If something wasn't working out for me I would figure out what I would have to do to get to where I want to be. I would sit around waiting for someone to make it happen for me. Lazy asses get you but on the pavement and take that minimum wage job and get where you want to be and work your way up.
