Another day, another quilt block!

So I am still working on making quilt blocks for a quilt for my mom for Christmas. (obviously it is not a surprise.) so without further ado here is it.

I also finished up taking pictures of all my hair accessories so I though I would share a few more with you on here. If you would like to see them all you can check out my Facebook page (I would appreciate it if you would like that page as well.

What others have been up too :)

So I have not made the time to take pictures of any of the things I have been doing crafty wise, (plus i have been organizing my craft room which is taking longer then I thought it would) so I figured I would show some projects other people have been doing.

So at Blog a la Cart she had recently made a really cool lamp. You can see how she made it here.

And just a tiny update about yours truly! I went blond a few weeks ago BUT it was more blond and kinda really brassy orange so I had went back to my cousins, cousin so she could fix it!

For the Girly, Girl in me

This post is mostly pictures, but I love to be girly too. I hate spending money on hair accessories, especially one's I know I can make myself. I have made so many wear so little and I am thinking of opening an Etsy shop to make some extra money and get my name out there. I am also thinking about going back to school, just still not sure what for yet, college is so expensive and I have such verity of things I am interested in and I like to think im a great at all of them. decisions decisions...

Last nights date night went well, we decided to go to the movies Sunday morning instead because the movie time started at 9:30 and wouldn't have ending until really late so we are going to go tomorrow morning. Which is perfectly fine by me (Sunday morning is 5 dollar movies and I am cheap, HAHA)

A day late but NOT a dollar short!

SoOo yesterday was (you guessed it) Thrifty THURSDAYS!!!! (said in a deep echoing voice) I will not keep you guys in anymore anticipation here is a picture of the hull from IMPACT :)

Total spent on 7/26/12...$19.12. I got a fondue cook book (for the fondu set I bought a few months ago) four stamps, some snap buttons, some eyelet hooks, 7 things of thread, 7 packages of 18 mm animal noses, 3 21mm animal noses, 16 mm animal eyes black, 20 12 mm animal eyes black, a lot of sewing needles, a ribbon shredder, a vale pattern, hinges, bast(i think thats what it was called ill double check when i get home from work.) tape, a large verity of vintage buttons, a package of white button, some vintage sewing feet, some vintage bobbins, a verity of lace, and some felt boards.

Welcome Fantastic Friday! Tonight is DATE NIGHT with my main squeeze! We are going to go out to dinner (at one of my FAV restaurants Red Lobster) and also going to see a movie (BATMAN!!!!)

Let's give this a try!

So the other day I had over heard my mom talking to a co-worker (we work together) and she mentioned she loved quilts. This was news to me, she doesn't own any, nor has she told her creative/sewing daughter this information before. So I asked her since when and why has she never told me this! It would be a perfect present for her at some point! Her excuses was that she never said or bought one because my step-dad is a dirty mechanic and would ruin a beautiful quilt by touching it (I'm thinking so tell him hes not aloud to touch it...but that is just me) So here is my first stab at a quilting block, hopefully with many more to come!

This is the link that I got the pattern from Mccalls Quilting. There is a bunch of free block styles some even have printable templates.

I Read TOO!!!

So the other day I finished Marley & Me. Yes I cried like a big old baby! But I loved this book and keeping the movie as a separate entity of its own I would suggest anyone who liked the movie to read this book, BUT be warned the movie IS NOTHING LIKE this book. They say that all the time about movies and books but truly there is only about three things that happen in the movie the way it happened in the book. I am good at keeping both the movie and book separate and love them both! If you cannot keep them separate pick one out of the two and I would highly recommend reading the book over watching the movie.
